DESCRIPTION: Rutilated quartz is a species of microcrystalline quartz identifiable by its golden needle-like strands within the crystal. These are called “rutiles,” hence, where the name rultilated comes from. This kind of quartz sometimes appears to be red rather than golden in color, and usually can be found in species of smoky, clear, and milky kinds of quartz.
COMMONLY FOUND: Rutilated Quartz can be found worldwide, but more popularly know occurrences are in Tanzania, the United States, Norway, Australia, Pakistan, Brazil, Madagascar, and Kazakhstan
INTERESTING FACTS: Rutilated Quartz has often been referred to as Fleches d’amour, Cupid’s darts, and Venus hair stones.
