Our Rock and Mineral Kits are all supplied by
Dragon Mountain Treasures - A kid-owned company
!

Jessy Chekal started this delightful company in 2002, after she visited a rock and mineral show to start a basic collection of her own. She and her family had been studying Earth Science in their homeschool and she fell in love with the bits of earth!
Excited, she began to look for kits to help her get started economically, however, she only found expensive kits with little bits glues to cardboard from some third world country. The specimens were of poor grade and the kits lacked excitement.

She began to investigate purchasing large amounts of rocks and designed several great kits for families to enjoy the art of rockhounding. She owns and operates her own website, www.RockHoundKids.com and she also writes a monthly newsletter for kids, free!

Jessy designs, creates and assembles all her own kits. She purchases her own specimens by searching for wholesale large purchases and also, rockhounds her own materials (wth permission from land-owners of course!) and also hunts on eBay to buy up collections from those selling off their mineral collections.

She will be graduating from her homeschool studies in 2008 and plans to attend a local college for her first year of college and then progress on to a great geology college... she's thinking about the University of Kentucky, or the University of Michigan!

Of course, she loves creating and offering these great Earth Science kits for kids to help develop the love of rockhounding and mineral collection that she so loves!
